Free text-to-image software

DALL·E mini is a multimedia application developed by Boris Dayma. Free to use, this app allows users to generate any image they can imagine. Even better, it works like a search engine. You only need to type your request in the prompt engine.

DALL·E mini is one of the many text-to-image tools available. However, unlike Google's Imogen, the images it provides are subpar. While it looks good from far away, you will see a lot of distortion when you examine the photos up close. If you are looking for more life-like results, you can also try NVIDIA's GuaGAN2.

How does DALL·E mini work?

DALL·E mini is a graphic design tool that simplifies the process of creating images. It uses artificial intelligence, data scraping, and billions of images from all over the internet to turn your text into an image. As mentioned, doing so is as simple as typing your request to the provided prompt engine and hitting the Run button. Within a few seconds, the app will then generate nine images.

The app only provides you with what the AI believes is the best fit to picture your request. It works based on math and algorithms with no artistry involved. The AI will only look at countless images available on the internet and pick the ones that correspond best to your query. It will then identify patterns found in the majority of them and create an image that fits your description.

As an end result, the images will look good from afar, but if you look at them closely they look all kinds of wrong. The image will even take a turn for the worse if you put a real person instead of an animal. Additionally, the app is also often so busy that it fails to give you what you want. Often, it will only yield nine blank tiles.

Should you use it?

All in all, DALL·E mini is a great tool to have if you wish to have fun. The app made image creation simple, allowing you to generate a photo of anything you can think of with a few clicks. You don't need to learn image editing. However, do not expect excellent results, as most of the time, the images look all kinds of wrong.

In Softonic we scan all the files hosted on our platform to assess and avoid any potential harm for your device. Our team performs checks each time a new file is uploaded and periodically reviews files to confirm or update their status. This comprehensive process allows us to set a status for any downloadable file as follows:

Clean

It’s extremely likely that this software program is clean.

What does this mean?

We have scanned the file and URLs associated with this software program in more than 50 of the world's leading antivirus services; no possible threat has been detected.

Warning

This software program is potentially malicious or may contain unwanted bundled software.

Why is the software program still available?

Based on our scan system, we have determined that these flags are possibly false positives.

What is a false positive?

It means a benign program is wrongfully flagged as malicious due to an overly broad detection signature or algorithm used in an antivirus program.

We’d like to highlight that from time to time, we may miss a potentially malicious software program. To continue promising you a malware-free catalog of programs and apps, our team has integrated a Report Software feature in every catalog page that loops your feedback back to us.
